About Qualtrics

In partnership with Academic Technologies and the Center for Teaching and Learning, the Office of Research Administration is pleased to make Qualtrics survey software available to support research, teaching, and administration at Boise State. Qualtrics was selected by a group of faculty and staff because it combines
exceptional ease of use with an advanced set of features, including the following:

  • a wizard to help build surveys, requiring no prior training
  • dozens of sample surveys on various topics to customize for your own use
  • integrated sending and tracking of e-mail invitations and automatically generated reminder e-mails
  • integrated graphics and statistical tools
  • ability to download data into Excel or SPSS with the full syntax retained

Basic Training for Getting Started (30 minutes) Learn the basics of creating, distributing, and viewing results for your first survey, all in about 30 minutes. After this video tutorial, you’ll have everything you need to get started in Qualtrics.

Best Practices for Building Questions (5 minutes) Accurate survey results require well-designed questions. In this short tutorial, you’ll learn some basic tips for writing better questions.

Advanced Editing (25 minutes) Enhance your Qualtrics skills with this advanced editing tutorial. You’ll learn how to customize the survey experience for your participants and harness the advanced features available only in Qualtrics.

Advanced Reporting (22 minutes) Learn to create and view reports, view responses, download data, cross-tabulate responses, and work with survey statistics.

Advanced Distribution (27 minutes) Explore a variety of methods for distributing surveys, including anonymous links, e-mail invitations, web page pop-ups, and posts to social-media sites such as Facebook, Google+, and Reddit.

NEW: Create a Quick Response (QR) Code to distribute your survey. When scanned with a smartphone or other Example of a QR codemobile device, the code takes your respondents directly to the survey.
